I have always had large protruding eyes that were a little close set. In recent years they have changed (with age) and are more deep set. I'm confused about how to apply my eye make-up now. Any suggestions, pictures, or drawings of how to apply?Deep Set Eye Make-Up?
The objective is to bring the eyelid forward, but gently recede the prominent browbone.
Avoid deeper shades of shadow on the eyelids as these will only make the eyes appear more deep set. Avoid highly frosted highlighters on the browbone. Avoid black eyeliner. Accent colors should be more pale and used only on the eyelid.Deep Set Eye Make-Up?
It doesn't sound like you have deep set eyes at all. You describe them as protruding and close together....this is very different from deep set. Deep set eyes actually have a rather deep crease with a more prominent browbone. The actual eyeball is inset into the socket rather than more forward and rounded.
If yours are actually protruding and more rounded (sitting forward from the socket), use medium to darker colors on your lid to pull them inward and make them appear less ';bulgy'; looking. You can also use a lighter brighter color in the very inner corner of your eyes to give the illusion of more space between your eyes...this will make your eyes appear further apart rather than close set. Try also sweeping a midtone or slightly darker color at the outside corners of your eye. This also draws the attention to the outer areas of your eyes and give the illusion that they aren't so close together and can make them look more lifted.
One of my favourite books is called ';Make Up Makeovers'; by Robert Jones. Check your local library or bookstore and invest in this book. It's seriously worth it. He shows the actual placement of eyeshadows for different eye shapes, as well as beautiful makeovers on ladies of all ages. There's a wealth of info here on make up in general and it's not just geared toward the young.
Also check out Eve Pearl on You tube...she's an Emmy awared winning artist who has great videos you can watch to learn from. You might like her book as well...Plastic Surgery without the Surgery. (color pics, step by step).
Good luck....I'm sure you're gorgeous as you are!
