Eye make up question?

When you wear black eyeliner on the top, not on the bottom, and you wing it out, what does it to for your eyes? Does it make them appear bigger or what does it do? Do you like this look?Eye make up question?
This is the classic Cat Eye makeup and when done right is just beautiful. You will find it several times in every fashion magazine on the newstands right now, and on every movie star at one time or another (Scarlett Johanson uses it all the time). No, it is not a subtle look, and I would suggest it for a dramatic night time look rather than for day, but it is specifically designed to make your eyes look bigger, more elongated and uplifted at the outer corners, like a cat, hence the name Cat Eye. You can use black, Brown or any other color you choose, though black and brown are the most common. You start with a thin line right up against your lashes at the inner corner of your eye, gradually widening the line untill you reach the outer corner of the lid, and then you add a little wing like a check mark at the outer corner. Do not extend the wing too far, it is a visual trick that helps make your eyelashes look thicker and longer at the outer corner, so keep that in mind, overdoing it just looks like makeup, no visual trick anymore! When you add a thick line of eyeliner on the bottom lashes too, that is when you close up the eye and make it look smaller, but on the top lash line only it opens up your eye and makes it look more exotic. Try it and decide if you are confident enough to carry off that dramatic of a look, if so, go for it, it looks great. i think it makes your eyes look smaller ... but it makes your eyelids look bigger !





i wouldn't advise putting eyeliner on top .. it looks too emo for everyday wear (just use it for night time)... try to stay away from the amy winehouse look .. NOT GOOD !





oh and browns and light black (grey) eyeliner goes better on most people ...


but for me i've always got to have the darkest colour because i have dark eyelashes and eyebrows ...





-try to match your eyeliner with hair colour ... because say if you had light brown eyeliner and black hair it would look stupid ... and also if you had blonde hair and dark black eyeliner that would also look stupid
It makes your eyes appear smaller in the outer corners. I don't like the look... it is too emo for me lol





Try to make your makeup look as natural as possible. Black isn't a good eyeliner color for most people; try brown or a softer grey.

It makes them apear more cat like and wider (if that makes any sense?!).


its nice for night time if you use liqid eyeliner (can be tricky 2 apply though!!)

the eyeliner on top of the eye is suppose to make your eye look bigger and the wing it out makes it look stretched but its a really cute look just make sure when you wing it out its not a long one makes sure its little
It makes them appear bigger and rounder if you draw it along the top, and winging it out makes your eyes look more open. I like the look as long as it isn't too dramatic - I like to use a colored liner for a modern twist, like purple or green. That looks really sweet.
